Back in Town

Caroline, Lion, Monkey, Piglet & I made a triumphant return to NYC yesterday afternoon with 2 new dinosaur friends in tow. Good thing there was an extra empty seat next to us on the plane. Luckily, my wallet made the trip as well - thanks to the Kansas City police department & the Midwest Airlines staff. Apparently anything I can lose in 5 minutes, they can find in 45.

Our trip to Kansas was full of excitement and firsts, lots of sick-free car rides (thanks Pat!), exactly one funnel cloud and a minimal amount of slumber. We spent a lot of time in Topeka this time around, visiting G. Grandma Caroline & 'The Cousins' (a phrase coined by Grandpa Earl).

Here are some shots of our time in Lawrence: spending time with Grandma, admiring Grandma's garden, tasting yummy crayons at First Watch (Caroline & the KU basketball team's favorite brunch spot), the sky over Highway 10 & Wakarusa right before our 4th of July funnel cloud & the beautiful sunset after.
